Concept
Cleansing is a key element for healthy and radiant skin. In the evening, it must be freed from make-up, environmental contaminant deposits and excessive sebum secretions. Overnight, the skin is especially active and substances such as ammonia or uric acid are secreted through perspiration. These also need to be removed in the morning. After cleansing with an emulsion or a cream wash, make-up or cleansing product residues remain.
Depending on water quality, tiny amounts of calcium deposits are also observed which may affect the skin characteristics. The use of a tonic afterwards removes these residues and rebalances the natural protective acid mantle of the skin.
The cleansing of facial skin must always be regarded as a two-step process: first,
the cleansing with a wash cream or an emulsion and then the rebalancing with a tonic.
Through its ingredients, BASIC Refreshing Face Tonic regulates the skin. It noticeably
refreshes inadequately hydrated skin with a mild astringent action. The complete
cleansing process prepares the skin for better absorption of the face care products.
Active ingredients
Hamamelis virginiana (Virginian witch hazel) has an astringent, antiinflammatory
and anti-oxidative action thanks to the tannins and its etheric oil.
The high proportion of beta-glucane in Avena strigosa (black oats extract) makes the skin smooth and supple. It provides the skin with long-lasting hydration combined with an invigorating action.
